Modern day Lord of Lyricists, Big Lo, is back at it again with a new EP and Spring Tour on the horizon. With 2013 ‘Magnum Opiates’ and 2014 ‘Umbrellas & Green Olives’ under his noble belt, Big Lo is now ready to reveal his next chapter with the ‘The Amazing Luxurious Adventures of Baron von Lowenstein Esquire III’. Inspired by the films and books about Baron Munchausen and Don Quixote, the EP is an exploration of “crime, debauchery, opulence, and socio-political commentary“. Much like his protagonist counterparts, Big Lo has an unmatched gift of “slanging” stories.
‘The Amazing Luxurious Adventures…’ begins with the Pensacola Emcee addressing the “Elephant in the Room” over beats byV. Kush. Big Lo introduces himself along with his ability to dead the silence in any room with “precision (like) poetry“. This is followed by one of my personal favorites of the EP, “Cheat Codes”, produced by Bamboon. On this track, Big Lo demonstrates speed, style and major alliteration game with lines like, “casually contemplating a cacaphony of cartoon characters catching cases“. (WORD!!!)
Throughout the EP, Big Lo recites tales of lucid dreams, luxuries and international travels. The adventures are brought to culmination with the song, “Dystopia (Dream World)” produced by Cyborganics. A cinematic glance into the dark and hidden places of the mind, the recent visual depicts the thoughts of a tortured vs. an enlightened soul. Big Lo recalls his own path to redemption over familiar samples of Common’s “Come Close” and Jay Z’s “Moment of Clarity”.
Producer, Nickel Loot Tester proves to be a major influence on the overall sound of ‘The Amazing Luxurious Adventures’, demonstrating skill and variety on joints like the “Eighty-Six BPM”, “Mint Julep” and the scratch heavy remix of “Good Life”. Lo breaks down the price of lavish lifestyles and opiate enhanced escapades on “Black Magic” and “Carpe Noctum” featuring Inferno while FanRan provides the audible treasures.
On April 5th, join Big Lo on ‘The Amazing Luxurious Adventures…’. The EP will be available worldwide via all major digital retailers. Physical copies will be available via Big Lo’s website, various independent retailers, and at the merchandise table at any of Big Lo’s many live performances.
