#MIDWESTBEST VISUAL “Supreme Science”
|CHI-TOWN STAND UP! It’s your girl, MidWest Melly, bringing you the BEST from my favorite city in the Midwest!
Meet VISUAL. Born in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, this Latino lyricist has a deep rooted respect and love for Hip Hop and its culture. VISUAL is an emcee in its truest form, turning his initial passion for poetry into a platform of lyrical power. VISUAL has won several battles on the local scene, earning the respect of his peers in the industry and learning the value of his artistic vision. VISUAL continually finds ways to make music into thriving business opportunities working on his own public relations, promotion, bookings, music releases, and starting his own Indie Label (Community Service Records).
VISUAL has shared the stage with other great Hip Hop artists who share a conscience message such as: Lupe Fiasco, Rhyme Fest, Atmosphere, Brother Ali and many more. He has created a website dedicated to the rich history of hip hop found in the city’s scene (ChicagoHipHophistory.com). He is also an actor, video director, activist, youth advocate and proud member of the CHI ROCK NATION, CHAPTER FOUR! VISUAL is also the founder of #HelloHipHop, a monthly musical showcase for local artists. He continues to lay the groundwork for aspiring artists that can benefit from his experiences and business ethic.
VISUAL’S most recent album, “Supreme Science” is a breath of fresh air for hardcore hip hop heads. Filled with powerful punch lines, classic, yet original beats and relatable lyrics, the album is a testament to VISUAL’S long and extensive history in the music industry. I recommend track number four, “You“, which speaks about his personal story of struggle, achievement and people which doubted his talent in his lifetime. Track five, “Watch What the Devil Gets“, includes an ill sample of the Masta Ace beat from “Born to Roll” while VISUAL lyrically delivers a tale of triumph against all evil odds. The last track, “F@ck a Party“, explains VISUAL’S desire and willpower to reach his goals while avoiding the temptation of the party lifestyle of many of his peers in the music industry. Track for track, Supreme Science includes all the elements of hip hop artistry: clever word play, head nod worthy beats and a symbolic message. While anybody can claim to be an artist, few can master the “Supreme Science“.
