Florida-based spitter, Brian Breach reveals the fittingly raw and intense new visuals for “One Step Closer,” featuring the BX native, Mickey Factz.

Backed by producer George Young’s emotionally gripping instrumental, the two rappers bare their souls to the camera about what it’s like to be an independent artist in 2016. The result is a rather poignant viewing experience that makes both artists incredibly relatable, especially to those of us that stay on the daily grind, inching closer and closer to our goals.

The slick camera work and editing is credited to fellow artist, and Floridian, Lex One, who’s able to match the tenacity of Breach and Factz, and their technical prowess. Lex One drops his latest single off of his “Gold Plaque” album. Boom
Lex One – “Real Life Story” (prod. by Creole)
Following the success of his hilarious, over-the-top “Gettin Dough” video, Miami’s Lex One returns with some audio heat in the form of “Real Life Story.” It’s another standout joint off the rapper/producer’s great 2016 album, Gold Plaque, that’ll leave you rushing to hear the full record once the track’s over.

Fellow Floridian Creole supplies the minimalist and hypnotizing production for Lex, who uses it to his advantage as soon as he hits the mic. The beat will leave your head nodding, but it’s the emcee’s vocals and lyrics that keep you engaged. As the track’s title implies, “Real Life Story” provides a look into the reality behind the boasts and brags of the music.

Don’t get it twisted, though, because there’s some great bravado lingering within the raps here, including a slick nod to Busta Rhymes and FlipMode Squad. But Lex balances them with real-life insights and observations, even in subtle ways. Like in the first verse when he drops “I’m too manic” into a bar or later says, “All day I dream about, all the things I been without.” It’s a clever means of getting personal without becoming an open wound, and it also makes for one of Lex’s finest tracks to date.

“Real Life Story” can now be streamed, and can be purchased for download along with the remaining tracks featured on Gold Plaque, which is now available through all major digital retailers, via GTPS.

Miami rapper Lex One kicks up the insanity of his single, “Gettin Dough,” several notches with off the wall visuals that depicts what happens in one of the craziest pizza shops you’ve probably ever seen.

With the Navas Brothers (MAYDAY, Murs) behind the lens, Lex and his guest/producer, Simian Frenzy, embody two mobsters chillin’ and waiting on a slice from one of their favorite haunts. As mentioned, though, this is no ordinary pizza spot. Unless, of course, the one you frequent also happens to feature scantily clad women serving up pies and dishing out loads of food-based innuendo.

The visuals embody exactly what Lex was thinking when he crafting this over-the-top, bass-driven banger off his recently released, ‘Gold Plaque’ LP. “The chorus for ‘I be gettin’ dough’ just sounded like a scene fit for a few mob bosses in a pizza shop to me,” he says. That concept obviously could have gone in a number of different directions, but given the comical bravado of the track itself, it makes sense that someone with Lex’s humor would steer it in this direction.
